John P. Crothers
AGE: 74 • Newark
John passed away tragically from an automobile accident on Sunday, June 18, 2017.
John was formerly a volunteer Firefighter for Minquas Fire Department where he served as a Fire Lieutenant and Captain and was on the Board of Directors. He enjoyed puzzles, gardening making artistic creations with plastic canvas.
John is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn "Teri" Crothers; his sons, Sean Crothers and John Crothers, Jr. (Kathleen); his step-children, Sharon Churchwell (Brian), Rick Melvin (Karen), Chris Melvin (Dawn) and Venita Bledsoe (Ted); his nephews, Daryl Cramer and Oza Ray Stewart, III and numerous other family members.
A celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10 at Minquas Fire Station, 21 North James Street, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12 Noon and where a reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory can be made to the Minquas Fire Company, P.O. Box 3073, Newport, DE 19804.
