AGE: 84 • Newark

Mario passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in the presence of his family.

Mario graduated from Wilmington High School in 1951 and went on to get his degree from Goldey Beacom College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving as a Staff Sergeant and was a member of the Honor Guard from 1952-1956. While in the Air Force he met the love of his life Joyce Roberts and spent the next 63 years living a wonderful life together. He worked for Atlantic Aviation in New Castle, DE where he retired after 35 years of service. Mario was a 50 year member of Peniel United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer for 25 years. He was also a member of WaWa Tribe #45 and served as Keeper of Records-Treasurer since 2005.

Mario had a passion for gardening, enjoyed cooking and catering and spending time with his granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his sister Yolanda Marini Oros and brother John Marini. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Joyce; sons Ron (Michelle); Kevin (Theresa); Brian (Mary Kay); granddaughters Tara, Jena, Elizabeth, Amelia, Lauren and Alyssa; and his sister Jeanette Henry (John).

The family would like to thank the Christiana Care 2nd floor Intensive Care Unit for the wonderful care they gave him while he fought to recover.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 12 noon at PENIEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Newport, DE where family and friends are invited to visit from 10 am to 12pm. Interment will be private.

The family suggests contributions in Mario's memory to Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 East Market Street, Newport, DE 190804.
