Obituary for Roslyn Poole

Roslyn Poole
Roslyn R. Poole, 62, transitioned in her home on November 26, 2017. Born in Chester, PA on October 3rd, 1955, Roslyn was the oldest daughter of Bobbie G Poole and the late Frances Poole.

Roslyn completed high school at Chester High. She then pursued her passion to become a nurse by taking classes at West Chester University. In the early 1980s, after the birth of her children, she decided to finish the necessary requirements to become a licensed practical nurse. While she was in her late fifties, Roslyn went back to school yet again to obtain her Bachelors of Science at Neumann College in Aston, PA

Not only did Roslyn have a love for learning, she had a gift for teaching. Roslyn taught Sunday school many years at Ranges Memorial COGIC (where her faith in Christ was first established) and Lighthouse Mennonite Church.

Roslyn helped many older people through her lifelong career as an LPN in nursing homes. She concluded her career at Briton Manor Nursing Home in Glen Mills, PA

Roslyn took much delight in shopping and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She was also creative. She would start “special projects,” like homemade cards, cakes, and an unpublished nonfiction book. While she had an introverted personality, she was known for her giving spirit. Her cards, words of encouragement, and thoughtful gifts brought joy to many people. At the same time, Roslyn was fierce in defending herself and those she loved. In other words, she didn’t take any stuff!

Roslyn devoted her life to her two children: Stephen and Sarah. She made many sacrifices to expose her children to quality education, cultural enrichment, and Christian formation.

Roslyn was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Poole. Roslyn leaves to cherish her many memories: two devoted children, Sarah Farmer and Stephen Poole; son-in-law Ronnie Farmer; grandchildren: Elisha, Micah, Tydre, Acacia, and Blesyn; her father, Bobbie Poole; her sisters and brothers: Robert Poole (Seleter), Darlene Wilkins (Michael), Bertina Barksdale, Kevin Poole (Teresa), Crystal Reyes (Domingo), and Shannon Holland; her aunts Ida Mann, Janet Johnson (Fred), and Sarah Deligar (Hezekiah); her uncle George Fuller; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and facebook friends.
