Wilmington - Stephen, age 25, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 21, 2018.

Stephen loved playing and watching baseball. He was inducted into the Cooperstown Youth Hall of Fame from his days playing for the Delaware Dragons, where he was known as “Mighty Mouse”. Stephen enjoyed teaching his nephew, Nicholas how to pitch and playing basketball with his brother Dustin and his friends. He was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and loved fishing. Stephen volunteered at Kirkwood Detox Center with Angela and Jen.

Stephen will be remembered for his sense of humor, infectious laugh and the practical jokes he played, especially on his mom. He was a momma’s boy and his sister Ashley’s sidekick, even when she didn’t want him to be. Stephen was a wonderful uncle to Nicholas, Savannah, Thomas, Anthony, Bishop, Milton V and Sydney Jane and was excited for his soon to be born nephew, Legend Joseph Stephen Hults.

Stephen was preceded in death by his dad, Mel Hults; his Memom, Sue O' Connor and his grandmother, Sandra Hults. Survivors include his mom, Kelley Pawley; sister, Ashley O'Connor; brothers, Dustin (Katie), Todd (Ashley), Milton (Sam) and Zach; “Stepdad”, William “Bill” Pawley, Sr; “Stepbrothers”, Johnny Pawley (Nikki), Joey Pawley (Casey) and Bill Pawley, Jr.; the love of his life, Cortney Mott; children, KoriSkyler Mott and Aaiden Hults; grandfathers, Rod O'Connor and Milton Hults, II. and many aunts, uncles and cousins, including Josh and Kyle who were two of his closest friends.

Funeral Services will be 11 AM on Tuesday, May 1 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will be Monday, April 30 from 6 to 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to assist with the funeral expenses.
