Obituary for Margaret M Tansley

Margaret M. Tansley (Mom-Mom), age 74, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday July 17, 2018. She was a devoted wife, mother, & mom-mom.

Born in Wilmington Delaware, she graduated from Wilmington High School, but attended St. Elizabeth’s in her grade school years and was part of the church choir.

Early in Life, she was a Paralegal for an attorney in Wilmington. She later met her husband of 37 years, when they both worked at Worthmore Furniture. She was very passionate about her volunteer work with the PTA in Delaware and was the state president for several years.

She loved singing Country Music, especially around a campfire, and debating politics. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren were her heart.
The loves of her life were her family who will sadly miss her.

She is survived by her son, Robert Tansley Jr. (Danielle); Her daughters, Patricia Ward, Stephanie Poper, and Wendi Tansley (Victor Stewart); her grandchildren; Tara & Bobby Ward (Crystal March), Savannah Stewart, Andrew & Alyssa Poper, and expecting a new grandson due in September. Her great grandchildren; Collin Church and Damien Ward.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Tansley Sr., daughter; Heather Lynn Tansley, grandson; Ryan Allan Poper, son-in-Law; Greg Poper, and sister; Edith M. Hartnett.

Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom St. Wilmington De, 19805 at Noon on Tuesday July 24th, with visitation at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
