Obituary for Gordon H Gee

Gordon Harper Gee, age 67, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, August 18,2018. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Gee and Nell Gee of Memphis, Tennessee and his cherished wife, Kathleen O'Connell Gee of Massapequa, New York.

He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee and the University of Tennessee at Martin where he earned a degree in Agricultural Sciences. While attending Tennessee he was a member of the cheerleading squad and a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.

Upon graduation he moved to California where he began his career in the agricultural business with the USDA Meat and Poultry division. His career led him to Philadelphia where he was with the US Defense Logistics Agency as a Quality Assurance specialist. He was deeply involved in managing the operational rations for our military troops, Homeland Security and disaster prepardness centers. He took early retirement due to debilitating health issues and remained in Newark, Delaware where he lived out the rest of his life. Throughout all of the challenges life presented him, he kept his fighting spirit and sense of humor.

He is survived by his sister, Ginger Gee Owings of Memphis, Tennessee and a nephew, Douglas Lee Owings Jr. of Denver, Colorado. A private celebration of Gordon's life will take place at a later date.
