George F. Graham, Jr.

Wilmington - George, age 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Rockland Place.

George graduated from A.I. Dupont High School in 1954. He retired as Sgt. Major from the Delaware Army National Guard in 1993 after 39 years. George played trumpet for the 287th Army Band and volunteered to play Taps at many military funerals over the years. He enjoyed fishing, boating in Bethany Beach, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at Calvary Church.

George was preceded in death by his son, George F. Graham, III; his daughter, Tracey Knoll; and his sister, Phyllis Gayner.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gail R. Graham; his daughters, Pamela McCollum (Mark) and Leslie Buckalew (William); his grandchildren, Christopher Mears (Andrea); Sarah Lett (Nathan); Justin Mears; Kelly McCollum, Ryan Tribuani (Katie), Lindsay Knoll, Jacob Buckalew and Grace Buckalew; and 6 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 8 at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church or Delaware Hospice.
