Albert “Al” Langshaw

October 21, 1939 – April 11, 2025

Albert “Al” Langshaw 88, of Marshallton, Delaware passed away on April 11th, 2025, with loving family members by his side.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he is the son of the late William E. Langshaw and Meda Ward Langshaw.

Albert grew up in Elsmere during which time he worked in his father’s business, Langshaw’s Garage, where he learned at an early age to help his older brothers keep their stock race car engines running well.

Al enjoyed repairing motors so much that he had a small motor repair shop that kept many a lawn mower purring along.

Al enjoyed a successful career at General Motors, Boxwood Plant, for over 28 years and encouraged all family members & friends to “buy American”!

Al’s love of racing kept him in the race community for most of his life. Having his own stock car and winning his first race in 1952 fueled a passion that never ended.

Most of all, Al enjoyed attending and watching races…especially if he was accompanied by brothers Joe, Tommy & Bobby.

Al was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Jane C. Langshaw, and his Second Mom, Kathryn “Kitty” Langshaw and by his brothers William “Billy” Langshaw, Horace “Pat” Langshaw, Charles “Charlie” Langshaw, bonus brother Butch Ireland, his baby sister Meda Langshaw and sister Fern Oset.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Cunningham (Ronny); 2 grandchildren Bobby Cunningham and Jessica Sayers (Greg), Surviving brothers & sisters, include Robert “Bob” Langshaw, Norman “Tommy” Langshaw (Dolores), Joseph “Joe” Langshaw, Nancy Williams, Kathy Langshaw Husfelt (Rudy Husfelt), Daniel “Danny” Langshaw (Janice) & bonus brother Victor Goolday.

Also, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many great-greats!
