February 20, 1988 — April 17, 2016

Andrew Thomas Mitchell, Age 28, of Florida, formerly of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2016 when he was fatally struck by multiple vehicles while trying to cross the street in Pinellas Park, Florida.

Andrew was born in Newark, Delaware to John E. Mitchell, Jr. and Catherine Mantini-Sease (formerly Mitchell). He received his education in the Brandywine school district in Wilmington, Delaware, where he was raised.

Andrew was a jack of all trades, holding various positions working in many industries. His passion was working outside where he performed many landscaping roles in various parts of the country. He also had a natural talent for talking and was a natural sales person. He would often be found completing odd jobs for neighbors or friends throughout the neighborhood.

Andrew loved to travel, especially to the south east United States where he found his love for Florida. He spent the last few years living in Florida enjoying the beautiful weather. Andrew’s favorite past times included spending the summer at the family’s Pocono home in Split Rock located outside Lake Harmony, PA. He also enjoyed playing card games with his late Grandmother, Charlotte J. Savage-Mitchell. His hobbies included mountain biking, camping and racing BMX bicycles while traveling around many states competing on a national level.

He is survived by his father, John E. Mitchell, Jr.; mother, Catherine Mantini-Sease; step-father, George Sease; brothers, John R. Mitchell, II. (Lori) and David Mitchell; sister, Katelyn Beird; step-sister, Volena Sease; grand-parents, Jack E. Mitchell, Sr. and Thomas A. Mantini and multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 809 South Broom Street Wilmington, DE 19805 where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

Visitation will also be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, Delaware 19804.

Family and friends are welcome to attend both days.
