Age 90 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2012.
Anna was the daughter of the late Anthony and Adella Lazarczyk.She was preceded in death by her 8 brothers, Frank, Stanley, Eddie, Anthony, John, Joseph, Casimir and William; and her one sister, Regina Schneider.
Anna was born in Wilmington, DE and attended St. Hedwig's Church and School.She has one son, Calvin Brice from a previous marriage, who she adored. In September of 1964 she married John Gural, the love of her life. They resided in Wilmington, DE and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. She was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Anna was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and proud of her Polish heritage having been raised in a family that loved music, dancing and singing. She will be remembered for her loving heart and generous spirit by everyone who knew her. Anna enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her son, granddaughter as well as her nieces and nephews. She cherished the Christmas holidays. Anna loved the beach, particularly Wildwood, where she and Johnny went each year for their anniversary. Even though Anna battled Rheumatoid Arthritis since her mid 20's, she had an optimistic spirit and a smile on her face.She was very active and enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting as well as making wonderful crafts and decorations. Anna loved music and even composed several of her own songs. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
In addition to her devoted husband, John, she is survived by her son, Calvin Brice (Linda), and her granddaughter, Dr. Darla Brice, and will be remembered lovingly by her nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am, Wednesday, November 7th at ST CATHERINE OF SIENA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2505 Centerville Rd., Wilmington, where visitation will begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave., Wilmington.
Anna's family wishes to acknowledge the staff at Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The family suggests contributions in Anna's memory to the Arthritis Foundation.
