Born in Pittsville, Maryland to Nancy E. (Wainwright) and Vearl V. Baker, Anna Mae, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 with her family by her side.

In addition to her parents, Anna Mae was predeceased by her husband Nevin W. Shewbrooks, two months short of their 55th Anniversary. The early years of her marriage Anna Mae worked at the Hercules Research Center and later in life for Harvey & Knott's bus company. Her main purpose in life was to raise her children and keep a Christian home.

During her children's school years she was active in the Parent Teacher Association. A big part of her life was her involvement with her church family. There she joined the Bible study group, the Rebecca Circle, and on occasions was a Sunday morning hostess and a Scripture Reader. Anna Mae was passionate about her faith and beliefs and lived as a true disciple of Jesus Christ. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting down to read a good book, along with her daily bible reading. In her later years it was her strong faith that kept her going.
