Annabelle Debrabander

Annabelle deBrabander, 91, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022.

Annabelle was born in Wilmington on August 12, 1930 to the late Edward and Anna Grochowski. A 1947 graduate of Wilmington High School, Annabelle held a career as a secretary at the DuPont Company for more than 30 years and lived in Pike Creek, DE.

Annabelle was married to her late husband Charles for 68 years and they enjoyed vacationing together and taking cruises around the world. Annabelle was an exceptional caretaker and always made sure her loved ones were nurtured and loved.

Annabelle will be fondly remembered by all that knew her as an avid animal lover, an exceptional cook and baker, and a loving mother and grandmother. Most importantly, she cherished her time with family and friends more than anything and never missed a special occasion or important event.

Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Charles deBrabander, and her sisters, Dolores Laskowski and Regina Brzoski. She is survived by her son, Charles DeBrabander and his wife Ruth Ann; her brother, Edward Grochowski of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Kimberly Karstetter (Bobby); Amy Parisi (Alex); and Nicole Ellis (Brett), and 7 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Coral Springs Rehab and Healthcare Center (formerly Brandywine Nursing Home) for their care and support of Annabelle over the last several years.

A service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 11, 2022 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will be private.
