Anne Hamff

June 21, 1915 — July 6, 2007

Age 92, died peacefully at her residene at Sunrise Assisted Living in Wilmington, DE, on Friday, July 6, 2007, surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs.Hamff was formerly from Atlanta, GA, where she lived for 85 years.She was born in Gastonia, NC, on
December 22, 1936, she married L. Harvey Hamff, MD, who predeceased her in 2002. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage.She was a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader, and talented pianist. She participated in & provided leadership for many charitable events, including chairing the 1991 Mardi Gras Crawford Long Ball to benefit the Carlyle Frazer Heart Center. She was a volunteer and member of the Guild of the Atlanta Speech School. Mrs. Hamff excelled at gourmet cooking and needlework. She and Dr. Hamff traveled the four corners of the world, visiting every continent including Antarctica. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. Harvey Hamff and her brother, Thomas M. Babington. She is survived by 2 daughters, Anne McClemens of Wilmington, DE; Catherine Craycraft & her husband Robert, of KY; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Reifke & her husband Sebastian, of Hamburg, Germany; Christa Workman & her husband, Roger, of KY;and Shawn Scherer and husband, Evan of KY; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Celestia Babington of NC; 4 great grandchildren and 8 nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 14, 2007, at 10am at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1540 Foulk Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. This will be followed by a memorial service at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Hamff's memory be sent to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, 1540 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
