Barbara E. Johnson, age 67, of Delaware City, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 peacefully at Hospice at Christiana Care due to cancer.
Barbara was a 1975 graduate of Conrad High School and earned a B.A. with Honors in English and Political Science from the University of Delaware in 1999. She was a programmer and a graphic designer. She worked at Hercules and DuPont for many years. Barbara attended Temple Beth El and was the editor of the Facebook Delaware City News. She was an incredible piano player and loved Beethoven. She had a big personality with a
beautiful laugh. When you needed her she was always there.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Ford Brown and Charles Brown Sr; Her daughter, Jeannette Fisher and her sister, Debbie Brown Zuch.
Barbara is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, David Johnson; her daughters, Megan Fisher and Melanie Fisher Pagan and step daughter, Michele (Johnson) Hood (Christopher Hood); Siblings, Angela August (Ronald August), Charles Brown Jr (Elizabeth Brown) and Albert Brown (Donna Brown); and her eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Jesse, Alissea, Rebecca, Emma, Cerianne, Zachery and Skylar.
Funeral Services will be private.
