Betty went to join her husband, son, daughter, brothers and sisters in heaven on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Betty graduated from Liberty Bell High School in Damascus, VA. She enjoyed collecting Lennox and Crystals. Betty loved to dance, especially Country Western and the Jitter Bug.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William G. Fisher in 2002; son, Bart E. Pierson and daughter Donna A. Fisher. Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Suzanne Dorman and her husband, Bill; her son, Brian K. Pierson (Linda); her sister, Callie Reader; her special friend and companion, Richard Wittenberg; her local grandchildren, Richard S. Heckman, Jr. (Fiancee Jodi Barr), James M. Dorman, local great-granddaughters Gianna R., Isabella J. and Ally Heckman, and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be 7 PM on Monday, September 14 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport where visitation will begin at 6 PM. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Betty's memory to the American Cancer Society 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19702.
