Age 50, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2008, in the presence of his family.
Billy was a custodial fireman who was retired on disabitlity from the Red Clay School District.He was a muscle car enthusiast and had a great love for his dog, Buster.
Billy was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Atkins. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Patti Atkins; daughters, Tracy Green(Chris) and Ashley Atkins-Colon(Jason); brother, Tommy Atkins(Carol)and 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Friday, December 19th, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 12noon. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Parkway, New Castle, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Billy's memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilm., DE 19808.
