Billy Honaker

Billy E. Honaker, age 89, of New Castle, DE formerly of Pocahontas, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2020.

Billy was an Army Veteran. He worked at General Motors for 38 and a half years. He enjoyed sports especially golf, baseball and football.

Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Mahoda Shrader and his brother, Charles Honaker.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Myrtle Honaker; son, James Honaker (Sue); grandson, James D. Honaker (Wendy); grandchildren, Audrey and Phoebe Honaker; and siblings, Martin Honaker, Ellwood Honaker; Ray Honaker, Gary Honaker; Margaret Shrader, Shelby Moore, Gayle Crist, Karen Irwin, Sheila Austin, James (Sam) Honaker, and Sherry Murphy.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 7 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Billy’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
