Mr. Buck “Bucky” Springer, age 78, of Newark, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
Mr. Springer graduated from Dickinson High School and later served as an Amtrak Instructor for the USMC at Camp Lejeune during the Vietnam Era. After leaving the service, he was employed by Acme Markets and rose through the ranks to become a Store Director for the majority of his 60 year career. He was devoted to his family, whom he cherished spending time and traveling with. Additionally he loved nature, especially birdwatching. He was an avid runner and enjoyed running marathons.
Mr. Springer was proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Anne Springer and his sister, Judith Pritchett.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Susan Springer; daughters, Kimberly Springer (Chris Winslow) and Cindi Morris (Martin); and grandchildren, Caitlin Conrad and Nicholas Morris.
Funeral services will be private.
