Charlie, age 82, was called home in the early morning of Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Charlie retired from Chrysler in 1988 after 30 years. He then owned Sea West Laundromat and also worked at Sea Colony Beach resorts until retiring in 2004. Charlie will be remembered for his joking nature, quick wit and infectious laughter. He had a passion for gardening, cooking, music but will mostly be remembered for his loving and caring nature for family and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Neal Aro; his father, William Aro and his beloved mother, Neva Richardson Aro. Survivors include his children, Bernie Aro Nowell (Eric) and Lindsey Aro (Randy Howard); his children's mother, Barbara Aro and grandchildren, Neva, Nathaniel, Josiah, Jaquan and Xavier Nowell and his companion, Lois Hyson.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 15 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis Street, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Burial will be private.
