Charles Ober

October 24, 1931 — December 2, 2009

Age 78, of Elmhurst, passed away on, Wednesday, December 2, 2009, after a long illness.

Charlie was a journeyman carpenter for the Carpenter's Local Union 626 where he was a member for more than 55 years. He was a lifetime member of Richardson Park UMC, a member of Masonic Ionic Lodge #31 AF & AM in Newport and the Delaware Consistory of the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Charlie served in the US Army during the Korean War. His hobbies were woodworking, hunting, fishing, and most importantly spending time with his family.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Marie; his 2 sons, Ronald S. Ober and Kenneth H. Ober, both of Wilmington; grandchildren, K.C., Ronny, Jerry and Brandy; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11am, Monday, December 7th, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE where visitation will begin at 10am. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. and Dupont Road in Wilmington.
