Christine Louise Nelson, age 75, of New Castle, formerly of Brookfield, Ohio.
God saw Christine was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
Christine was a 1963 graduate of Brookfield High School. She worked for General Motors for 10 years in the 1980’s. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton from its inception and was at one time the church secretary.
Christine enjoyed card and board games, especially scrabble. She was an avid letter writer and enjoyed gardening. Christine had a big heart. She was active in Al Anon and would give anything to help another, especially others the world had turned away from. She would open her home and heart to them. Most of all, her family was very important to her.
Christine was preceded in death by her father Rudolph Sobotka; her mother, Sybil Bruce Sobotka and her daughter, Joyce Cassell and son, James S. Nelson “Booter”.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James W. Nelson; her children, Patricia Thatcher, Janet Adamczak, Carol Keener, Lena Overley, Eva Harting, Michael Babiarz, Tina Nelson, Teddie Nelson, and Terrie Williamson; her siblings, Patricia Hinkle, David Sobotka, Rudolph Sobotka II and Richard Sobotka; numerous grandchildren, including Marisa Overley Sanchez, Keith R. Harting and Charles W. Harting and great grandchildren; and her best friends, Sandra LaBlanche, Carmella Santiago, and Sharon McNat.
Services and burial were held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
