Claire Purdy, of Wilmington formerly of Newport, passed away on Sunday February 27, 2022 at the age of 94.
Claire worked at Gaylords as a Realtor and was also a homemaker.
She was a member at St. James Episcopal Church and was a founding member of St. Philips Lutheran Church. Claire attended Conrad High School.
Claire enjoyed reading, knitting, and crocheting. She loved all animals and especially loved dogs.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Harold “Dutch” Purdy; her son, Andy Purdy and her brothers, Jimmy and Edwin Morris.
Claire is survived by her children, Sherry Lynn Doyle, Patrick Purdy, Lisa Bush and Becky Purdy; her sister Janice Fischbach; her daughter in law Lisa Purdy, 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7 pm on Thursday March 3, 2022 at Nichols Gilmore Funeral Home 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 6pm. Burial will be private.
