Constance May Purzycki, age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at home on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
Connie was the daughter of the late Tony and Nettie Cartelli. She was a 1951 graduate of Conrad High School. Connie retired in the early 1980's as an assistant manager at WSFS after about 30 years of service. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Newport. Connie enjoyed Thursday nights at Hunter's Den where she spent time with old and new friends. As a young girl she sang with her father's musical group "Tony and the Lehigh Valley Boys", who often performed on WDEL and WILM. It was through her music she met her husband of 44 years, Henry J. "Bucky" Purzycki, who passed away in 1997.
Connie is survived by her brother, Guy "Donnie" Cartelli of Wilmington and his fiance, Jeri L. Coates; her godchildren, Maryann Santiago and her husband Jose and their son, Michael; Donna Llerandi and her Mike and their sons, Michael and Javier; and Glenn Cooreman.
Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, September 8 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport where visitation will begin at 10 am. Visitation will also be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. DuPont PKWY, New Castle.
