Cynthia Abrams

Cynthia G. “Cindy”, “Mom Mom” Abrams, age 81, of Newark, De passed away on Sunday, October 13th, 2024. Born in Salem, NJ she was the daughter of the late Adelaide S. Clemente and Bernard J. Ulissi. As a child she moved to Delaware and attended Our Lady of Fatima School, she was a graduate of William Penn High School in 1962 and Cosmetology School 1963.

Cindy made her early career as a hairdresser at Connie’s Beauty Salon, she then transitioned to a small in-home salon to be with her children while they were little to finally work in the cafeteria at Hodgeson Vo-Tech from where she retired in 2009. After retiring, Cindy lovingly watched all five grandchildren until school age giving them countless memories to cherish forever.

Cindy enjoyed reading, watching Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark movies, she LOVED watching and purchasing items from QVC and knew all the operators by name! Cindy shared a love of “slots” with her Mother Adelaide; the two of them spent endless day/nights at Delaware Park playing the slots and sharing meals. Most of all Cindy loved spending time with her family, especially celebrating the Christmas holidays.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Pierce Abrams Sr.; daughter, Vicki Lynn Graff (Ron); son, William Pierce Abrams, Jr. (Stacy); grandchildren, Adam Graff (Caitlyn), Emily Slingwine (Shane), Justin Abrams, Connor Abrams, Lauren Abrams; and great granddaughter, Dillon Graff.

A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held on Sunday, November 24th at The Rail, White Clay Country Club, 777 Delaware Park Blvd., Wilmington, DE from 1pm – 4pm. Everyone is encouraged to share their fond memories of Cindy at 2pm.
