Daniel H. Beaton, age 81, of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, formerly of Kearny, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019.
Dan was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickenson University with a BS degree and Seton Hall University with an MBA. He enjoyed attending Life Long Learning at the University of Delaware. Dan retired after 37 years at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he was a Vice President in Human Resources.
Dan was quiet and introspective but had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, and reading.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Alice Beaton.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Mary-Lee Beaton of Kennett Square, PA; his children,
Lee Beaton (Marlena) of Freehold, NJ and Sherril Beaton of Howell, NJ along with their mother, Susan Beaton of Howell, NJ, Julie Berkowitz (Jeff) of Morris Plains, NJ and Matthew Diez (Jackie) of Little Silver, NJ; his grandchildren, Chad Beaton, Samantha Jose, Jason Berkowitz, Kyle Berkowitz, Madison Diez, Carter Diez, and Sydney Diez; his brother, Thomas Beaton (Judy) of Toms River, NJ; and his sister, Alice W. Beaton of Toms River, NJ.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the spring. Burial was held privately.
