Age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away on December 1, 2008.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 27, 1933, Dave's family moved to New Rochelle in 1940's where he was very active in the Boy Scouts attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. He continued his love of scouting as a Scout leder. Dave atteneded Davis and Elkins College in WV, where he met his wife, and received a BS in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University in 1956. Dave retired from Pennoni Associates in Wilmington, DE but had also worked for the former Sun Ship and Dry Dock Company, the DuPont Company and Process Insustries. Dave will be remembered for his constant caring and loving support of his family.
He is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Phyllis Johnson; son, David & his wife Barbara; daughter, Ann; son, Tom of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Michele & her fiance, Christopher Hood; brother, Donald R. Johnson of Fort Lauderdate, FL and Lewes, DE; sister, Janet J. Barr of Havertown, PA along with several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held after the first of the year, with details to follow.
