David Werts

Dave Werts, age 66, of New Castle, formerly of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 from natural causes.

Dave attended Lord De La War School. He enjoyed playing cards and checkers with his grandkids. Dave also enjoyed wood crafts and working on his cars.

Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Rita McMaster; his father, Cyrus Werts and his brothers, Cyrus C. Werts and Willie Werts.

Survivors include his sister, Helen Whitlow; his children, Dave Werts (Karla), Dallas Werts (Willie), Micheal Werts (Tammy Potts), Wayne Werts (Stacy) and Hazel Werts; 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

* RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER* Visitation for family and friends will now be from 11 am to 1 pm on TUESDAY, February 23 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804. Masks and social distancing will be required along with a capacity limit in the funeral home. Services will be private. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
