Doris went to be with the Lord July 26, 2017.
Doris graduated from Wilmington High School in 1942 and worked for the DuPont Company for 33 years, retiring in 1982. She was a long time member of St. James Episcopal Church in Newport where she was involved in the choir, vestry, layreader, Jr. and Sr. Warden.
Doris & and her husband Fred traveled around the country participating in and coordinating Faith Alive weekends, a spiritual retreat founded by Fred Gore in the Episcopal Church.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 12 years, Frederick C. Gore in 1993. Survivors include her children, Lorayne C. Titter; Eileen C. Borders; William Gore & wife Joanna, Diana Mammele & husband Jackson; grandchildren, Christine A. Titter-Landis & husband James & daughter Alexis, Amanda, Jonathan & James Mammele; William Gore, Jr.; Kimberly Heflin; and 10 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 am on Wednesday, August 2nd at ST. JAMES EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 2 S. Augustine St. Newport, DE 19804. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions, in Doris' name, to St. James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 2 S. Augustine Street, Newport, DE 19804.
