Dorothy "Joan" Cadmus Youngblood, 81, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2023 at 9:27 am at Christiana Care in Delaware. She was born on April 4, 1941, in Denton, Maryland and was the daughter of Charles Elmer Cadmus and Mabel "Anne" Donald.
Joan graduated from Henry C. Conrad High School in 1958. She worked at the GM Boxwood Assembly Plant in Wilmington, Delaware where she began in the Steno pool and worked her way up to Salary Payroll Supervisor. On February 16, 1985 she married Paul H. Youngblood and they resided in Elsmere, Delaware. They celebrated 38 years of marriage in February.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her son, Kenneth Wooleyhan of Chattanooga, Tennessee; her stepdaughter, Nancy Youngblood Nutter and her husband Glenn Nutter of Felton, Delaware; her stepdaughter, Tracy L. Y. Condon and her husband, Charles, as well as their children, Olivia, Liam and Gavin; her brother, Martin Cadmus, and his wife, Karen of Peoria, Illinois; her nephew, David Cadmus, and his wife, Sherri, as well as their children, Jessica, Annali and Hailey; her niece, Kathy Cadmus Horath, her husband, Kevin, and son, Nick; and her beloved cat, George.
In order to honor Joan’s request, there will be no funeral services held.
