Douglas Hobbs

Douglas Francis Hobbs, age 60, of New Castle, Delaware passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024. Doug was born in Wilmington, DE to Albert J. Hobbs, Sr. and Viola K. Hobbs; he was the youngest of their six children.

Doug was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker who enjoyed music, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his granddaughters.

Doug is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Marie A. Hobbs; father, Albert J. Hobbs, Sr.; mother, Viola K. Hobbs; and brother Albert “Joey” J. Hobbs, Jr.

Doug is survived by his daughter, LouAnne Molinaro of Carneys Point, NJ; granddaughters, Sydney L. Poff and Reagan C. Poff of Carneys Point, NJ; sister, Joanne Sheetz of Newark, DE; sister, Geraldine Funk of Newark, DE; brother, Michael Hobbs of Bear, DE; brother, Wayne Hobbs of New Castle, DE; and sister-in-law, Annette Gershen of Farmingdale, NY; along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Noon on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to assist with the funeral expenses.
