Earle Lindell

Earle R. Lindell, Jr. whose sunrise was June 22, 1923 had his sunset on August 2, 2009.

Earle retired from Diamond State Telephone Company in 1985 after nearly 40 years of service. He was a past elected president of the Telephone Pioneers. Earle was a WWII Navy veteran who served on the USS Houston in the Pacific. He enjoyed watching sports and dining at the Plaza Family restaurant in Newport.

Earle was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marge, in 1987; by his oldest granddaughter, Lisa Lindell Laney in 2003; his oldest grandson, Chuck in 2008 and his beloved dog, Josh. He is survived by his children, Jerry of Florida and his son Gerald; Earle III of Jackson WY and his children Earle IV and Christina and Trish Johnson (Monograms by Trish) of Bear and her daughter Ashley; 6 grandchildren and his good friend and caretaker Shirley Giles.

Funeral Services will be 7pm on Friday, August 7 at NICHOLS-GILMORE Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis st., Newport, where visitation will begin at 5pm. Burial with military honors, will be 10am on Saturday, August 8 at Bethel Cemetery in Chesapeake City, MD. (If you are not sure where the cemetery is you are welcome to meet at the funeral home on Saturday morning as a procession will be leaving at 9:15am or call the funeral home for directions, 998-8013)
