Edie passed from this life on February 28, 2015, peacefully at home. Edie was born in Germantown, PA to Alfred and Ethel Casey.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Wilmington Church of the Brethren, 27 Belmont Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 3:00, with a reception to follow in the Church’s Fellowship Hall.
Edie grew up in Wilmington, DE. She was a woman of strong faith serving as a deacon and life-long member of the Wilmington Church of the Brethren. She retired from Sears after 24 years of service, then volunteered at American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and Emanuel Dining Room. Edie was cared for the last five years by her loyal companion and friend, Lola Clarke, who was with her when she passed.
Edie leaves four children; their spouses, six dearly loved grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Wilmington Church of the Brethren, OR the American Red Cross Serving Delmarva, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 501, Wilmington, DE 19801. Condolences may be left on www.nicholsgilmore.com.
