Age 80, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 4, 2009.
Edna May was born February 18, 1928 in Wilmington to the late George and Viola Kipe.
She was a graduate of Conrad High and Goldey Beacom College(formerly Beacom College). Edna May worked for the Dupont Company for most of her career, but retired from the Wilmington YMCA after 10 years as an administrative secretary.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis C. Diffendall, with whom she shared a passion for dancing and traveling. Edna May is also survived by her daughters, Anne Roberts & her husband John; Barbara Murphy & her husband Larry;Patricia Ballintyn & her husband Andres; her son, George & his wife Jane; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held, 10:30am, Saturday, February 7th at St. Matthew's Church, 901 E. Newport Pike in Wilmington, DE, where visitation will begin at 9:30. Interment will immediately follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N.Dupont Pkwy., New Castle.
