Edward Chance

December 22, 1934 — August 2, 2014

Edward A. Chance Jr. AKA “Silver”, 79 of Wilmington, DE. passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2014 surrounded by his family.

He was a veteran of the Air Force and a member of the American Legion in Wilmington.

Edward worked at the Wilson Shipyard for a number of years early on, he worked as a machine operator for Container Corp. of America, he also drove as a courier for Brooks Courier Service. Additionally “Silver” filled in as a part time bartender at the Polish American Civic Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife (“I’ll meet you maybe”) Claudette Chance in 2011 and his sister Leona Flowers.

Edward is survived by his three sons, Allen, John, and Robert; his two daughters, Robin and Deborah; his sister Frances Monbrod, his ten grandchildren, Casey, Chris, April, Amber, Dylan, Joshua, Gabrielle, Claudia, Jamie, Antonio, and great grandchild Destiny, , his sister in-law Leslie McGonigle,, his brother in-law Alvin Hicks, daughter in-law Susan Chance, daughter in-law Pam Aspril, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a Casual Gathering on Friday, August 8th 2014 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the residence of 815 Old Harmony Road, Newark DE 19711.

Burial services are private and held at a later time.
