Edward J. Podgorski Jr.

Edward J. Podgorski Jr, age 71, of Wilmington, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024.

Ed was a 1971 graduate of Conrad High School. He attended Richardson Park United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Boy Scouts. Ed was also a member of the Absalom Jones Senior Center and formerly went to the Elsmere Senior Center and Elsmere Library. He enjoyed current events, watching movies - especially older movies, and listening to music. Throughout his life, Ed accumulated an extensive music collection that he generously donated to a beneficiary at the University of Delaware several years ago.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Podgorski Sr and Erma Podgorski.

Survivors include his brother, William A. Podgorski and wife Sandra; cousins Robert Markiewicz and son Justin; Stuart Lloyd; Nancy Champness, husband Joseph, and their children Keri and Michael; and the late James Russell; nephew David V. Podgorski and wife Ellen; and niece Kaethe V. Podgorski and husband Seth Redfield and great-nieces and nephew, Nora, Anne, Josephine, Owen, Willa and Sybil.

Funeral services will be held at the NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis Street on Saturday, October 5 at 10:30 am. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
