Eleanor Pearl Berry passed away peacefully September 28, 2013. Eleanor was born May 25,1921 in Wilmington Delaware and grew up the small community of Roselle. She graduated from Conrad High School and attended the University of Delaware for a short time.
Eleanor worked for The Wilmington Trust bank before retiring to Lewes, Delaware.
Eleanor enjoyed sewing, bowling, square dancing and many years of sailing with her husband, George in their sailboat on the Chesapeake and surrounding waters.
Eleanor's husband George Berry of 69 years died in 2010. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, George Robert and Mary Lou Berry of Lewes and Charles Berry and Hilde of Gaithersburg Maryland and one daughter and son- in- law, Jeanne and Kevin Smith of Lewes .
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Bonnie Smith, Michael, David, Ian and Nathaniel Berry, James Brooks, Holly Johnson, Heather Manier, Mary Jo Smith and Brendan Smith, and 13 great grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care for the
care they provided and would especially like to thank the staff of State Street Assisted Living in Dover for the loving care provided to "Miss Ellie" over the past several years
