Elsie W. Andrews, 98, of Wilmington, went to be the Lord and her loved ones whom have gone before her on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.
Elsie was born July 21, 1915 a daughter of Vincent A Walker, Sr. and Susanna Huntsman Walker. She was the Manager of the Cafeteria for the Dupont Social Club for 35 years prior to retiring in 1980. She also was the snack bar cashier for the Tatnall School from the middle 1980s to early 1990s.
Else was a longtime active member of the Peniel United Methodist Church in Newport, DE. She was a lifetime member of the Minquas Ladies Auxillary and an avid Phillies fan.
She was preceeded in death by husband, Allen N. Andrews of 30 years in 1972; her brother, Vincent Walker and two sisters, Dorothy Deery and Eleanor Jones.
She is survived by two daughters, Susanna Mays and her husband, Barry and Bonnie Andrews; one sister, Betty Walton; one granddaughter, Terri Hamrick; great grandson, Tyler Hamrick; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 E. Market Street, Newport, DE where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park. The family suggests donations to Delaware Alzheimer's Association 40 E MAIN STE 102 NEWARK, DE 19713, or the American Heart Association 200 Continental Dr #101, Newark, DE 19713 .
