Age 79, of Newport, DE, passed away on Wednesday,
April 9, 2008.
Jean was primarily a homemaker and worked at Justis Brothers in Newport in the 1950's. She enjoyed camping and being at the beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert G. "Bobby" Clifton, Sr. in 2001. She is survived by her son and his wife, Robert G. and Judith J. Clifton, Jr. of Newport; her sister, Shirley Towner and her husband Dick of Middletown, DE; and her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 7pm, Tuesday, April 15th, at Nichols-Gilmore Fuberal Home, 212 E.Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 6pm. Interment will be 11am, Wednesday, April 16th, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Jean's memory to Minquas Fire Co. #1, P.O. Box 3073, Newport, DE 19804.
