Evelyn Short

Age 87, a resident of Sarasota, FL for the past 8 and a half years, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007.
Evelyn was a salesclerk at Strawbridge & Clothier, at both Merchandise Mart and Christiana Mall for over 37 years before retiring in 1993.
Evelyn's husband, of 56 years, Frederick C.Short, passed away in 1993. She is survived by her son, Richard W.& Anna M.Short of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren & their spouses, Jonathan(Sylvia)Short of Hartville, OH; Jason(Effie)Short of Applecreek, OH; Ruth Ann(James)Wagler of Sugarcreek, OH; James(Beth)Short of Deerfield, OH and Mary(Rob)Klinger of Sarasota, FL; 16 great grandchildren; a niece, a nephew and 2 great nieces.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm, on Friday, March 23, 2007, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Saturday, March 24th in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N.Dupont Hwy., New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.
