Francis passed away on Wednesday May 13, 2015, a day before his 91st birthday.
He was a Pipefitter with Getty Oil Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1990. Francis was a member of the Pipefitters Local #74. He was an Army veteran with the 4th Armor Division where he fought in the European Theatre including the Battle of the Bulge.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lillian in 2003; a son Michael A. Singles; grandson Matthew S. Singles; brothers George Singles and David Singles and sisters Anna Dalecki and Jeannette Igo. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Francis J. Jr. and Christine Sheehy-Singles; daughter, Kathleen L. Singles; 8 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and sister-in-law Clara Singles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM on Saturday May 16 at St. Matthews Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington (Woodcrest) where visitation will begin at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
