Age 84, Stanton, DE, passed away, Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at home in the presence of his family.
Francis was a crane operator for 33 years at Phoenix Steel until retiring in 1982. He was a Navy veteran having served in the South Pacific during WWII. Francis was active at the Harold Weston, Oak Grove and the Absalom Jones Senior Centers. He enjoyed playing pool and Bingo, loved to travel and enjoyed gardening and household projects.
Francis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Wegrzynowski; his daughter, Elizabeth A. Malone and her husband Robert of Newark; his son Walter F. Wegrzynowski, of Wilmington; 2 sisters, Eleanor Webb of Newark and Eva Jensen of New Castle; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Funeral services will be 12:30pm, Monday, March 15th, at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 11:30am. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
