Gary A. Webb "Conga Gary"

At age 67, Gary passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 8th,2024 after a three year battle with vascular dementia as a result of a stroke in 2020.
Gary attended Krebs School and graduated from Delcastle High School in 1975. He worked as an aircraft painter with Atlantic Aviation for six years, and Gas Distribution at Delmarva Power for 28 years, retiring in 2013. He also landed his dream job employed by the Philadelphia Eagles for several seasons during home games as their "Net Man," raising the net for Eagle field goals at Veterans Stadium before it was replaced with Lincoln field.
His joy in life has always been with classic rock music and playing drums/percussion with local bands since 1975. He was a founding member of the band, Slipstream, in the late 70's early 80's,who were well known on the Route 40 Delaware/Maryland circuit. He has made appearances with other bands and musicians such as Noxx, Chalice, Kenny Jones, Alfie Moss, Dexter Kunz, The Island Boyz, Charlie Hitman, and sat in with Raven Cooper while on vacations at his happy place, Key West. He also enjoyed sailing his Hobie #7 while a member of the Rehoboth Bay Sailing Assoc.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Milton Webb, his father-in-law, Francis T. Green Jr., brother-in-law, Dennis Green, and long time best friends, Orrie "Bill" Williamson & Barry Robinson.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara Green Webb, his daughter, Jessica Buckingham (Matt)and his beloved grandson, Jace; brother, Mark Webb (Michele);sisters, Cindy Aiello (Bill),and Debbie Levine (Ken);mother-in-law, Phyllis Green, sister-in-law, Donna Penna(Pete) and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 with sharing time at 7 on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. St., Newport, DE 19804. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Delaware Hospice (https://www.delawarehospice.org) and/or Wings of Rescue (https://wingsofrescue.org).
