Age 90 of Dover, formerly of Newport and Lewes, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010.
George was a Millwright at Brocius & Smedley for 25 years before retiring in 1970. He was a member of the first graduating class at Conrad HS in 1937 and was a Charter member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. George, who was a 32 degree Mason, was a member of the Ionic Lodge #31 and the Consisistory. He was a member of the Delaware Blues, a Civil War reenactment Unit, the NSSA, a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Fraims senior center. He enjoyed traveling and sailing.
George was preceded in death by his sister Janet Senigen. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eleanor H. Berry, his children and their spouses, G. Robert Berry (Mary Lou) of Milton, Jeanne Smith (Kevin) of Lewes, and Charles Berry (Hilde) of North Potomac, MD, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will follow Masonic services at 11am on Saturday, January 23 in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. DuPont HWY, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10am. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
