George “Ed” Horton

George “Ed” Horton, age 88, of North East, MD, formerly of Stanton, went to be with his wife on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Ed attended Sullivan High School in Fall Branch, TN. He was the co-owner of Horton Brothers Auto for over 30 years until he retired in 2011. Ed also worked at General Motors for 5 years and Electric Hose & Rubber for 15 years.

Ed was a member of Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Newark. He enjoyed fishing with the grandchildren and working on cars, especially his 39 Pontiac.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Eula M. Horton; grandson, Keith Milan; nephew, Donnie Neal; sisters, Shirley Ray, Faye Meyers and Mildred Wild; and brother, Clyde Horton.

Survivors include his son, Jerry W. Hobbs; daughter, Karen Milan (Anthony); brother, Donnie Horton; grandson, Chad Milan (Jessica) and great grandchildren, Travis and Lilly Milan.

Services will be held at Noon on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 2038 Pleasant Valley Road Newark, DE 19702, where visitation will begin at 11AM. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway New Castle, DE 19720.
