George Man "Drop" Rucker, age 54, of New Castle, formerly of Philadelphia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Man attended Robert Morris Elementary School and Vaux High School. Man worked as a cook at TGIFriday's, Hard Rock Cafe in Philadelphia and Pizza Hut in Delaware. He recently became a caregiver.
In his younger years Man played baseball and football. He was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Man was a jokester and loved to give friends nicknames. He bonded easily with children and loved being around family and friends.
Man was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Rucker, in 1985.
Survivors include his mom, Betty Lou Rucker; sister, Edith Rucker; brother, Johnnie Rucker (Kia Whitman Rucker); nieces, Bria Rucker and Paige Rucker; nephews, Johnie Rucker and Quintin Martez Rucker; great nephews, Fasil F. Rucker and Quintin Rucker Jr.; great nieces, Serenity Rucker, Zada Rucker and Tasia Rucker; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extended a special Thank You to his sister in law, Diane Boyer.
Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Nichols - Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 East Justis Street Newport, DE 19804, where visitation will begin at 9 AM. Burial will be private.
Contribution can be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
