Gerald J. Boyd Sr.
Age 86, of Wilmington, passed away on Sunday,
January 2, 2011.
Gerald began his career as an insurance agent for Home Beneficial in 1954 and retired in 1986. In the 1940's he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a locomotive fireman. Gerald was a WWII Navy veteran and a member of St.John the Beloved Church. He enjoyed playing bingo at Millcreek Fire CO and marquetry.
Gerald was preceded in death by his sons Gerald J. Boyd, Jr., Paul F. Boyd and Glenn Clayville. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, M. Carolyn Boyd; daughters Shelly Boyd Logan, Joan Hobbs and Suzanne Roberts; daughter-in-law, Ann Boyd, brother Lawrence J. Boyd and his wife Dolly; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held privately.
