Geri passed away peacefully on November 10, 2015, with family by her side. Geri was born in Wilmington on July 13, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Arczykowski Chudzik.
Geri graduated from Wilmington High School Class of 1966, and was employed by Corporation Trust Company. Later she worked at Greenbank Child Development Center, and Wilmington Trust Company. Her work ethic was second to none.
Geri was a gracious, vibrant, forthright, energetic woman with a strong will who was loved by many. She was an exemplary mother and grandmother, as well as a loyal friend.
Geri's world revolved around her family and dear friends. She made a welcoming home filled with love and laughter, loved entertaining, especially during the holidays. Geri was a devout Catholic and proud of her polish heritage and traditions.
Geri was married for 40 years to her loving husband, Walter J. Kula, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2011. She is survived by her son, Matthew Kula; daughter, Jennifer L. Kula, four grandchildren: Joshua, Mia, Jimmy, Jade, two sisters: Barbara Brice and Virginia (Ginger) Bright; and one brother, Stephen Chudzik (Eunice) her caregivers with whom she lived in Lewes, DE. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Geri's life will be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 11:00 am at St. Hedwig's Church, 408 South Harrison Street, Wilmington 19805, where friends may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
