Glenn “Pop” Boone, age 69, of Wilmington, formerly of Coatesville, PA, transitioned on Friday, August 23, 2024.
Pop was a 1973 graduate of Thomas Edison High School. He served in the United States Army from 1973 until 2015. After his service in the Army he worked a the Emmanuel Dining Hall and Connections now known as Conexion Care. Pop enjoyed going to the gun range with his son. He also enjoyed music, pool, criminal tv shows and football, especially the Eagles. He loved his wife’s Jamaican cooking.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Dionne Boone; son, Chad Chevannes; one granddaughter; Niece's Brianna Odemio, Lorraine Ward, Asyah Fletcher and Ayla Fletcher; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kerry Ann Fletcher, Kemar Fletcher and Kennisha Fletcher; Mother and father-in-law, Stanton Fletcher and Jennifer Fletcher; Mother, Laura Boone; six brothers, Charles (Mack), Moese, Hoopie, Herbert, Kenneth and Simion (Mark); six sisters, Hannah (preceded in death), Yvonne (Rabbit), Cynthia, Paula, Andrea and Pamela; and a host of other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 9 am on Thursday, September 5 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St, Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 8 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Military Cemetery in Bear, DE.
