Helen Francis “Franny” Azwol, of Wilmington, formerly of Kirkwood, went home to be with her husband on Friday, September 13, 2013.
Franny worked in the shoe department at both Grants and Jamesway Department Stores. She also worked at the Aletheia Christian School in Newark. She was an active member of Christ Church in Delaware City, where she taught Sunday School. She was also an active member of the Middletown Moose Lodge, where she served as a Senior Regent, and she was a long time member of the Cornerstone Senior Center.
Franny loved arts and crafts, bowling, and traveling with her late husband. She will be sadly missed and was a loving member and fantastic grandmother.
Franny was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alfred in 2000. She is survived by her children, Mae Barrow, Louis Azwol (Laura), Rebecca Abounabet and David Azwol; her grandchildren, Louis. Jr, Stephan, Susanna, Jessica, Tina, Cynthia, Rebecca, Charles III, Jenny, Lynn, and Nicholas; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11:15 AM at Christ Church, the corner of Clinton and Delaware Streets, Delaware City, where visitation will be from 10 AM until 10:45 AM. Burial will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
The family requests contributions in Frances’ memory to Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis Street, Newport DE 19804 (302) 998-8013 to assist with her funeral expenses.
