Age 73, passed away May 5, 2010 in the presence of her family.
Harriett, who was a 1954 graduate of P.S. DuPont High School, was a den mother and committee member for St. Matthew's Cub Pak 21 for 10 years. She was the first non-catholic to receive the Fleur-de-Lis Award from Bishop Thomas J.Mardaga.
After retiring from Atlantic Aviation in 1988, she worked at Serpe's Bakery for a short time. She was a former member of Five Points Ladies Auxiliary. Harriett enjoyed the beach, camping, sports and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Emette(Buddy)Floyd; her son, Emette(Bud)Floyd; her brothers, Fred, Burt, Bill and Joe Phillips; and one sister, Gladys Phillips. She is survived by 3 daughters, Suzanne Bibey, Darlene Floyd and Patti Luby; one sister, Shirley Dill; 5 grandchildren, Tina and Annette Grier, Candice and Louis Bingham and Tiffany Vasquez; and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Wednesday, May 12th at Nichols-Gilmore Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, DE where friends may call at 12 Noon.
